Roxio Prob - not reading or copying CD's

I know this isn't a real Windows prob, it's more to do with the Roxio Easy CD
utility that came with Windows XP on many PC's, but seeing as it's somewhat
tied into the Media Player, I thought maybe someone could help me with this.

I copy CD's, music ones to blank CD-R's, for an unsigned band that I manage.

However when I went to do it yesterday, it didn't seem to be working. First
off, it doesn't seem to read the original CD properly in the D Drive and says
there are 'no audio files'. This is complete rubbish as I've copied this CD
before!

It also doesn't seem to read the blank disk in the E drive.

Sometimes a message comes up saying 'Digital audio extraction is not
available on your cd-rom drive'. Again, this is rubbish, as I've done it
before, and it does support it.

Windows Media Player continues to work properly, so I'm assuming it's a
Roxio problem. Since I'm using their utility that came with the PC and
Windows XP, if I contact them, they just tell me to buy their premium pack,
which I'm not really into doing yet, if this one ain't working! And they
don't have forums, so that's why I'm turning to you guys and girls and hoping
you will be kind enough to help me.

I'm wondering if I lost any files or settings were switched when my PC cut
out or whatever. I've heard of that happening. But seeing as I have no idea
of what the original setting should be, that's why I'm relying on you. Is
there anything I can check? In Roxio, the clip should open with which
program, for it to work?

I sometimes get a message saying 'Easy CD Creator does not have the files to
open this utility' or something along those lines. I didn't delete any files
in this program, so I'm wondering if they went when my PC cut out or
something?

Any of you experience anything similar?

Thank You,
Jay D

Ant time your computer abruptly looses power files may be lost. You will
have to reinstall the Roxio program to regain full functionality it seems.
