I doubt there are 1.9 million devices for all operating systems

There's a learning curve for Ubuntu so the ex Windows users will need
help and it's being give to them. Here no one helps anyone because no
one really knows much about Vista and Vista...

A LOT of help is given here, and many people try hard to do so. But it's
tough when every request for help is turned into an ad for alternate OS's.

"Buy a Ford!" is not really great advice to the Chevy owner with a flat
tire.

Well duh... Taking Microsoft own figures... it claims that Vista
"supports" 1.9 million device drives, then in the next breath admits
only 9,000 have been submitted for certification testing. So that
really means there are nearly two million device drivers that are
suppose to work with Vista, and of that number only 9,000 have passed
certification. Speaking from my own experience Microsoft's
certification process isn't worth much.

Neither is the upgrade advisor.

Since my Gigabyte MB claimed
it "passed" certification, yet until recently still refused to work
correctly with SATA drives.

I had lots of problems with the NIC on my machine with Vista.

will call an unchecked group of people stupid with no reason what-so-ever.
