Steps to take to connect two XP PCs using Firewire?

Hi,

I've been having great difficulty in setting up two XP machines to
share files.

I've been using a firewire cable and at one point, I managed to get PC
'B' to gain access to PC 'A''s Internet connection.

At that point, i still could not access the files from PC A and vice
versa.

I have looked around the net for a guide but have had no luck. Most of
the results are two technical. Please could someone talk me through the
steps of setting up the connection so that I am able to share files
between the two machines. Please bear in mind that I am completely new
to networking.

Many Thanks,
Jon.

You have to share these files. Shared folders or drives in the properties
of. If you click on properties of a drive you will have the option of
Sharing but you should practice safe sharing if you are exposing a virgin
System to the Internet. Firewall configuration or installation is needed.

Hi,

I set both root drives to share but the machines still did not
recognize each other.
