Very slow unusual laptop logon, it freezes on my desktop for about a minute. No icons or taskbar. No or little disk activity. Having looked in Event Viewer, it says
"The SSDP Discovery Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process."
What is it, why is it not working?
Also having disabled it, there is still a slow logon.

I think it means that services it depends on on have a different account number and/or name to this one.

Should be something like

Start - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services

Then try setting it to automatic.

Problem again now, at night when all the network computers are turned off on the home network, it shows blank desktop for at least 40 seconds, and little hard disk activity. Any workaround?
