Describe your problem more fully. What happens when you try to check the
spelling?

When people respond to those of us who Have NO freakin clue to what your
talking about or how to find it-much less change it-ITS NO HELP AT ALL!-I
have a message that I need to send out like yesterday-an it needs to not only
worded right but spelled right too!Thanks alot Im even more pissed now that I
cant even send out my message-than how upsetting the message was to right in
the first place!!!!!!!!

Windows Mail doesn't come with the default language properly
set to English. Click on Tools, then Options, then Spelling, then
change the language to something else, then click on Apply, then
change the language back to English, then click on Apply, then
click on OK.

I purchased a new computer and was unable to keep the e mail address because
the address book was not available. I changed to windows e mail and there is
no spell check available.. I tried to down load spell check and they said
they would provide an icon, but as yet i am unable to find it.
What can I do??

WM does have a spell check.
Tools>Options>Spelling. You need to select a language other than English and
then go back and select English.

If you used Outlook Express on the old computer, see here for how to
transfer the old messages:

<http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/email/import-dbx-files-outlook-express-windows-mail-vista-86458.html>

<http://www.vista4beginners.com/Migrate-from-Outlook-Express-to-Windows-Mail>

Bring along the .wab file if you want the old contacts list (address book).
After you copy the files to a directory on your new computer, make
sure the copies are read-write instead of readonly before you import
them into Windows Mail.

I'm not familiar with a spelling check you download.

However, you may want to try to activate the English spelling
check that comes with Windows Mail. It comes with the
default language for spelling checks only partly set to English;
not enough to work. To correct this, click on Tools, then
Options, then Spelling. Click on the triangle to the right of
English, then some other language, then Apply, then the
triangle again, then English, then Apply again. If you also
make some changes above this on the same screen, click
on Apply afterwards. Click on OK.

Click the "Tools" menu in the main screen of Windows Mail, and not in the "New Message" window.

I intended to toggle to another language then return to American English, but
noticed American English is not listed! Is that crazy or what?

American English is the one labelled English.
