SP2 Slowed down my internet connection

After I installed SP2 my cable connection to the internet was slowed down to
a stand still. It is slower than a 28.8 dial up. I had the cable company
send a repair tech to look at it. He played around for about an hour and
then came up with (you have a virus and left). I know I do not have a virus
or ad ware or spy ware I have my computer very well protected with all the
latest protection. I can even add a favorite to my list without being
warned. The cable company has given up on me and I am at a loss. They did
hook up a lap top to my connection and it worked fine. Any help would be
great.

Even though, you feel your system is clean, run this combo (each of them):

Run Ad-Aware SE, Spybot and HijackThis:

Note: Update each program, once installed, before running.
