sp2 problems

I installed sp2 again this time I disabled virus
protection and firewall and I still get same error.
When I open control panel I get the following error
"an error occured while windows was working with the
control panel file C;\windows\system32\netsetup.cpl.
I can just select OK and the control panel will open.

I hate errors....
Has anyone else seen this and how would I fix maybe a
replacement netsetup.cpl file

This error message has nothing to do with SP2. It comes from the
unpleasant monitoring software from your ISP and is connected with
IPMon32.exe. Go to Start>Run and type (without quotes)
"msconfig" [Enter]. Look on the Startup tab and find IPMon32.exe and
uncheck the box next to its name. Apply and OK out. You don't need to
restart immediately, but the next time you do you'll get a dialog box
saying you've used the System Configuration Utility. Just mark the box
that says, "don't bother me with this again". You can safely disable
IPMon32.exe from starting with Windows and your Internet connection
will not be affected.

I actually found that tip and it did work thanks.
But I see I have problems loading some web pages and the
firewall is disabled.
Some pages are extremely slow and some won't load.
My yahoo companion bar buttons wont load much like if I
had my firewall set to high...
Not sure about this upgrade since I didnt have many
problems before this

Some reasons why you may be having trouble now:

1. Your computer might not have been 100% spyware and virus-free.
2. Some of the software you use - like the Yahoo buttons, for example -
might not play well with IE's new security settings. You will need to
change your default settings and/or check to see if there are updates
to the software.
