Have you tried resetting to defaults in Creative control panel? Also do you know if these are beta drivers? If you let me know what card you have I will try and find the right drivers for your card, and we can see if that works.

Hi Belloni
Do yourself a favour, go HERE and follow the steps layed out and i'm sure your problem will be resolved..If ever you have a problem with any device after drivers have been updated, rolling them back to a previous driver config should always be your first port of call..

If you are Using an optical out cable (SPDIF) then it should work, but if you are using a 3.5mm Jack then it won't as the SPDIF is Digital and for high definition sound.

When windows logs in does that make a sound??

whats that got to do with it? That can be disabled in a matter of seconds....

Tough one Belloni.

Check all your settings again, if that dont work try ripping out all the drivers for sound card, make sure on-board is disabled via BIOS, and reinstall latest drivers direct from creative again?

Right, put in CD, did remove all stuff, and then went to programme files, removed all the stuff from there too.

Gone to the folder, and it says i need permission to delete it?!

Hi V_R,

The reason why I asked the quistion was to see if windows made a sound when it started. to see weather the codecs needed updating.

Only way i've fixed it is by putting the plugs via the PC, so i don't have Xfi now ... what a waste.
