Sound Recorder...

Hello everyone,

I'd like to record some notes from a digital voice recorder (RCA Model: RP
5014A) using the program called "Sound Recorder" included with WinXP Pro. I
connected the earphone input jack on the RCA digital voice recorder to the
microphone input jack on my sound card with the proper cable and tested it
to see if it would
record sound. It did but only for 60 seconds. I would like to know if it's
possible to increase the recording time, and if I can edit the sound for
better clarity and quality so in playback the speech is heard better while
all the
background noise is reduced or eliminated. If the above can't be done with
"Sound Recorder" does anyone know of any other program that will do this?

Thanks to all who reply,

Ismael

Launch the recorder program and record for 60 seconds with NO SOUND. Go
to File and Save it as, say "One Minute Sound". Make sure you know
where you put it. Now go back to File and select New then go to Edit
and select Insert file. Find the file (one minute sound) and select
Open and repeat the Edit, Insert file for as long as you want until you
get the size you want, say 5 minutes. Save it while its blank with no
sound so you always have it. When you want to make a recording, copy
the blank file (5 minutes) to a meaningful name then just open up the
copied file and hit record.
