Sound of silence

Hi everyone, I'm running Media player 11 on XP. It's been fine for a long
time until I just played a video on Real Player. Since then I can get no
sound at all even after I removed Real Player. Any clues?

You probably un-installed a component linked to your soundcard. Do you have
any system sounds ?

Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > any
yellow triangles against entries for your soundcard ? If so re-install the
soundcard drivers.

Also run Direct X sound tests to see what's missing. (Start > Run > type in
DXdiag > enter)

Or simply re-install WMP 11 on top of itself.

Cheers,
Jerry
