Setup assistant and auto updater issue

I am having an issue with setup assistant starting up everytime I run the
antispyware program. Also, the auto updater shows as inactive even after I
activate it. I try a reinstall but nothing changed. Does anyone have any
ideas?

Here are two different prescriptions. Please try them in order and let us
know which works:

A)

Shut down Microsoft Antispyware by right-clicking the tray icon and choosing
shut down.
Then: 1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the
quotes).
3) Re-open Windows AntiSpyware
Test whether that's fixed these issues. If not:

B)
1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete the \program files\microsoft antispyware folder and all
subfolders
You will lose access to all quarantined items, history, and
customized settings.
3) reinstall Microsoft Antispyware, taking care to be logged in as the
administrator user who will custmarily use the program.

Nuts! I was hoping that method 1 would work.

At any rate--glad that took care of it.
