Setting IE as the default browser

I don't know if this is the right group, but I inadvertently set Firefox as
my default browser. Whenever I click the IE icon I get Firefox. How do I
get IE back?

No, it's not the right group. And I assume that you mean that you get
Firefox when you click on an Internet shortcut (an icon with a little
arrow in the corner) and not, for example when you go to Start > All
Programs and click on the Internet Explorer you find there. If that
doesn't work, go to Start > Run, type "iexplore" (without quotes) and
click OK.

The following is for IE 6 on Win XP. I don't know the details for IE 7
or Vista:

If you can start IE, go to Tools > Program and either click the "Reset
Web Settings" Button or check the box "Internet Explorer should check to
see whether it is the default browser." OK your way out.

If you can't start IE at all, you have more issues than just a change in
the default browser.
