How can one user use IE and another use Firefox as default browser?

I prefer to use Firefox and my wife prefers to use IE, everytime she
logs on she changes the default browser to IE and whenever I log on I
change it back to Firefox.

Is there a way so that we can both be happy?!

Setup seperate user names for you and your wife. When you login with your
name you'll get your own settings and vice versa.

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet Options, Programs Tab, and uncheck the box,
"Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser", Apply, OK

Look for a similar setting for Firefox.
