Open IE and click Tools/Internet Options and click the Programs tab on the
screen that opens. Put a check mark in the box at the bottom. You'll get
prompted and can make IE the default.

That's happened to me too. Someone finally gave me a registry edit to fix
it. But Kerry knew the *right* answer. See his reply.
And thanks to Kerry... I'll remember that one!

Your welcome.

I know the procedure well. I prefer Firefox. I get a lot of email
newsletters from Microsoft with embedded links which often do not work with
Firefox so I have to keep switching back and forth. If someone knows a
procedure that will allow you to click on a link in Outlook 2003 and pick
which browser to use I'd love to hear it.

Get the "Open in IE" extension for Firefox. Then when you open something
in FF and it doesn't work, you can right-click the background to switch
to IE. You can also right-click links *in* FF to choose IE.
