Services.exe uses all available CPU, 40-60%

I have a fully updated W2K adv server, which has turned a bit slow.

Everything seems to function ok, but services.exe is taking all available
CPU causing the server to respond slowly, if at all.

Have tried KB328885, but it does not apply.

Any suggestions?

Check Event Viewer for errors.
