Any network layer change causes Services.exe to go
berzerk, taking 90 to 100% of CPU utilization for up to 10
minutes before returning to normal.
Any change to TCP/IP network layer or above will do it-
hot-swapping PCMCIA NICs, inserting PCMCIA NIC, Release,
Renew IP address, add IP address, change DSN server, Flush
DNS, change routing table, even save HOSTS file.
Tried scouring network config & rebuilding, tried re-
installing Windows (went from W2K Server to W2K Pro in the
doing), downgrading from SP4 to SP3, all to no avail.
I can't seem to find anything in the KB, either.
HELP!!! It's driving me CRAZY!!!
Anyone?
Thanks.
