Security in Windows XP Home

Hey all,

I know enough about security in XP pro, but I can't seem
to get gpedit or something similar running on an XP Home
machine in order to restrict certain users' capabilities.
What's the best solution for this? I basically just want
to disable the control panel from being accessed and lock
the desktop from changes.

XP Home was not designed for business environments. It does not
have the gpedit component.

You can download 3rd party tweaking utilities that will set the same
restrictions that GPEDIT would. You can also edit the Registry manually. A
good source for manual Registry edits is www.winguides.com

I have a small collection of Security tweaks on my site, www.dougknox.com.
Most of them will work with XP, most won't. The scripts can be easily
modified to change the Registry key and value that are being changed.
