Search Companion never finds anything

When I click Search from a Windows Explorer window, I get
a Search Companion frame with a silly dog. No matter what
settings I try, this search never manages to find anything
in any file. It is able to find files by name.

For the past few weeks I've been having to start a Korn
shell and use find and grep. This is annoying.

Suggestions?

Yes, that did it. Thanks.

I now realize that I first noticed the problem after I had
removed the binding for the .java files I've been searching.

Now I'll ponder why in the world somebody at Microsoft thought
that this was such an obviously correct setting that it can't
even be overridden via the advanced search options.
