Scrolling & dragging is jerky/wavy

I've just reinstalled XP after replacing a failed hard drive. Now when I
scroll a page it scrolls in jerky waves instead of moving as a flat page. I'm
not aware of having changed any settings, but there is obviously something
different.
Also when I drag a box across the screen it moves with a similar jerky/wavy
effect.

Display driver?
You probably need to install the driver for yr hardware - graphics card

In hardware Devices/Display device check the driver version being used.
If a graphics card, check the manu.site for updated driver
If on board graphics, check yr mobo site for driver updates.

Thanks for your advice, I've already got there by a slightly different route.
I found the name of the graphics card from the original printed spec for the
computer and searched for the driver.
