Scroll bar jumps too far on a single-click

Is there a way to customize IE 6.0 so the scroll bar never
jumps more than one page up (or down) when a single click
is made above (or below) the current location?

I recently made the switch from Windows 98 (don't remember
the IE version) and on that setup IE would only jump one
page down even if I clicked far below the current
location. Any help in customizing the scroll bar to behave
in that manner would be much appreciated.

Caused by a bug in the recent Q824145 patch.
Microsoft probably knows about it by now.
By the time we get used to this 'new'
feature Microsoft will fix it!!
------options here------------------
Position cursor 'close' to the top/bottom of the
slider bar and it should scroll one window.
Use the mouse wheel to scroll.....as applicable
See mouse properties (Wheel tab) to adjust
Press/Hold/Slide actual slider-bar
Keyboard navigate: Leave cursor on left ausw of screen
and use other hand on keyboard. (Unless one-armed)
Up/Down Arrows (Single line!!!)
Left/Right Arrows (<---Very Slooow--->)
Pageup/Pagedown (Too obvious???)
SpaceBar = down one page (Sometimes)
Shift+SpaceBar = up one page (Sometimes)
Home/End (Top line/Bottom line -- wow)
R-click scroll area.....menu....select option

Thank you. I actually thought this was a new feature I
could just customize my way out of, and was completely
mystified as to why there would be a demand for the
ability to scroll pages while skipping significant
portions of websites.

Armed with the knowledge it's a bug (how could they have
missed something that huge?), I'll just rely on PgUp/PgDn,
although it'll be less convenient than the old method (at
least at first). Once again, thanks :)

I thought that too! I just looked for that specific
hotfix on my system, but could not find it. This is so
annoying that I would willingly compromise a possible
flaw just so my dang scroll bar would work properly
again! Anybody know how to roll back this "fix"?
