Save Picture As only offers .bmp

Most of the time when I try to save a graphic, image, or
photo from a web site, the only format option I'm allowed
in the Save As dialogue box is .bmp - even when I'm
certain the image is a gif or jpg.

I can email myself the pic and it comes through in the
correct format.

Any ideas?

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.
