Run time Error

Hi,

After I have logged into my PC running XP Home, I get a "Run time-error '62:
Input past enf of life" box come up. At the top of the box the header is
SVCHOST. Any ideas how to fix this?

Many thanks in advance

At first, please note few info about Windows NT architecture (surely XP Home
is NT 5.1):
The main idea is just the same one in UNIX - server application, that gives
all procedures and so on,
and client applications, that connect to server and call it's functions. The
SVCHOST is a server app that
provides the work of the special feature of NT - Windows (NT) Services. The
login service named Winlogon.exe is
among them. If your Windows doesn't allow you to login it seems that the
basic app server named SVCHOST
(Services Host Server) has encouronted an internal problem and needs to
close. The easiest way to restore your
current Windows configuration is:
a) When PC bootscreen appers press F8 and select Last Known Good
Configuration
(this option will restore your registry entries to the last ones that
worked - because of
Windows store all info about Services in registry this can be helpful)
b) Otherwise you can repair your Windows installation using original Windows
Setup CD.
Just boot yoour PC from CD and select repair
["The_Name_of_Your_Windows_Installation_stored_in_boot.ini"]
instance of Windows.

Good Luck!
