Restricting video from the web

Have used group policy on our domain (2k3 servers, XP workstations) to stop
IE from playing video clips from web-sites.

But Media Player still seems to play video from the web. Is there a way to
allow our users to listen to audio but not play video? Trying to conserve
bandwidth.

How did you do this? ;)

Seems your policy does not work.

Sure. Use a proxy server with such capabilities, like ISA Server 2004/6.

My mistake - media player is not playing video from web, I had noticed a
workstation playing something from disk.

So GP (Admin Templates - Windows Components / Internet Explorer / Internet
Control Panel / Advanced Page) is doing the job.

And bandwidth available for real work (liking browsing newsgroups!) has gone
up.
