Restarting my computer

I have just installed Windows XP and each time I shut down my computer and
bring it back up I have to insert the CD in the drive to make it restart.
What can I do to keep this from happening.

When you installed, did it ask if you wanted to boot from hard disk (C
Drive) or from CD, you might want to check your BIOS settings to see
what boot sequence has been set, if it is set to boot from CD, you will
need to change the sequence to C,A,CD, this way when it starts up it
will check the c drive for the boot, so if WinXp is loaded it will see
this on the C Drive and boot, if it does not see the OS on C Drive it
will ask for a Floppy (A Drive ) or a CD (CD Drive).

Are you familiar with the BIOS settings, when you restart the computer,
the first screen should allow you to press the del button to access your
BIOS settings, depending on the version your computer has, there will be
a set of Menus, locate the one which has the Boot sequences and make
your changes, be sure to save the new settings and exit.

Trisha: your computer may be missing these files
(ntldr, ntdetect.com & boot.ini). to find out if that's the
cause search for these files in the C:\WINDOWS\system 32 folder.
If they are missing, Use the browse option on the WXP-CD
to find and copy them to the system32 folder.

Also, there's the posibility you may need to reset the HD
to come first in the start secuence. Change this setting in
the CMOS BIOS. Access the Bios with the Delete key
repeatedly right after the on swith. (on some computers
it may be F10, F9 or F6) if none of these work,
see your owners manual for the right key.

If there's something you missed during installation
this link should provide a clue.
