removing spyware

hi, my housemate has picked up alot of spyware, and has no protection
software other than norton anti-virus.
can anyone suggest how we go about it and also once we remove anything will
a system restore work or can we do a system restore and it will al be ok.
I am a mac user so I really have no idea how to solve these problems
(although i do own xp for mac) and he is a technophobe. Please help

try downloading ewido antispy just type ewido into your search box the run
ewido in safe mode also ewido can protect you in real time for 30 days but
then it stops and you can then only use the scan options unless you buy it
also try spybot which you can download viamicrosoft catalogue hope this helps.

These are FREE:

Spybot removes spyware. It also has a resident utility called
Tea-Timer that catches spyware on the fly.

Adaware by Lavasoft removes spyware.



Not free, but excellent:

Webroot Spysweeper. (As an AT&T subscriber it is a free download.)
