Remembering Passwords

My newest laptop running Windows XP does not remember
Internet Explorer passwords, or Office Express passwords.

I have read all the help file info, and click remember
password in the dialog box, but the neither the autofill
or passwords are remembered when I return to any site
that previously requested a password.

I have other XP machines that work fine.

Any suggestions on what to do, or where to get more info
would be appreciated.
