Release date for SP2?

S

Steve Gould

Anybody hear about a release date for SP2 yet? I'm almost desperate for the
fix for KB327010, but Microsoft won't release it until SP2 (unless you want
to pay the toll).

Steve read the KB article again.

If you have the actual problem that the fix is coded to fix then you will
probably not be required to pay for the patch
See the Note section (copied below)

Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be cancelled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question.

If you have the problem and we have a fix do not wait for a Service Pack
with no announced date for availability

Thanks for the replies. Time to call Microsoft I guess.

What good will that do? If you are desparate for the fix you are
looking for, and they won't release it outside of SP2...well, do you
think if you call them they'll relent and send it out especially to
you?

Greetings --

Did you read the first post? He is looking to obtain a patch that will be
in SP2 but is available now through Microsoft support.

Yes, top-poster, I read the entire thread. The first message I read
from the OP said he wanted a fix to a particular q update, but it
wasn't going to be released until SP2 (which would incorporate it).

Sorry if I upset you.

The original poster had not read the KB article or understood that while the
fix will be incorporated into SP2 it is available now for those that have
the specific issue and that he may not be charged for it either if it does
solve his problem.
