reinstall doesn't recognise CD

Updating Outlook I get a message box titled "Microsoft
Office 2000 Professional" that says -

The file 'Microsoft Office 2000 Professional' is not a
valid installation package for the product Microsoft Office
2000 Professional. Try to find the installation package
'DATA1.MSI' in a folder from which you can install
Microsoft Office 2000 Professional'
and an [OK] button

Needless to say, when I give it the DATA1.MSI it doesn't
recognise that either.

I'm trying to change from Internet mail to
corporate/workgroup (but it happens in other situations).

No useful replies and 50 junk emails.
Fortunately I can filter them out.
