Registry key missing?

I have been having a problem trying to access my US Robotics USR18000 routers
config page as I wanted to open some ports for use of a game server. The web
admin page refuses to load and I contacted USR but they were ultimately
unable to help and pointed out that the problem was that in the report that
shows after entering ipconfig/all it shows that Node Type= Unknown. USR
pointed me to a Microsoft Support page
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310570

that should solve this issue by editing a registry key, namely EnableProxy.
I followed the instructions to the letter but the key they referred to does
not exist in my registry!!
Under Parameters I have the following keys

Under Parameters I have the following keys;

(Default)
BcastNameQueryCount
BcastQueryTimeout
CacheTimeout
EnableLMHOSTS
NameServerPort
NameSrvQueryCount
NameSrvQueryTimeout
NbProvider
SessionKeepAlive
Size/Small/Medium/Large
TransportBindName

and as you can see there is no EnableProxy key there. I did a search of the
entire Registry and indeed there was no named key in it.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

some of the default keys don't always show in the regestry, probably so
people wont screw things up.
- right click inside parameters add Dword copy and paste EnableProxy
as the key name 0 (zero) is default.

But wouldn't think this is going to do anything for your router page not
showing provided you can surf the net already.

EnableProxy
Key: Netbt\Parameters
Value Type: REG_DWORD - Boolean
Valid Range: 0 or 1 (False or True)
Default: 0 (False)
Description: If this value is set to 1 (True), then the system will act as a
proxy name server for the networks that NBT is bound to. A proxy name server
answers broadcast queries for names that it has resolved through WINS. A
proxy nameserver allows a network of Bnode implementations to connect to
servers on other subnets that are registered with WINS.

Instead create a new DWORD value called NodeType. Set its value to 1.

Is your computer either a) running or b) connected to a proxy server? If no
to both, then adding the keys are going to cause you more grief the what it
was suppose to solve. The key you speak of gets created when you
enable/configure a proxy server in your "internet options" applet of control
panel or from within IE, tools, internet options, connections, LAN Settings.
