regedit

I have been trying to load McAfee's VirusScan. McAfee's
suggests that I remove a folder from HKEY-...
When I run REGEDIT, the window opens and allows me to
click on FILE and open other files, but closes before I
can edit anything.

How do I keep regedit open to edit? Is this a XP glitch?
I have edited in 95 and 98 so I am experienced with
regedit, but have not needed until now to try editing in
XP.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Tim

Some Spy-ware, virus or trojan is probably closing regedit to make it
difficult for you to remove it.

Try scanning with Ad-aware and Spybot-SD (both free).

You might try booting into safe mode and running regedit from there.

He has a virus which is closing the registry editor before he can use
it. Several virus' do that to keep you from removing the destructive
keys. Best to do an on line scan.
