Both computers are NTFS now, comp1 can see comp2, but
can't access it "\\comp2 is not accessible, the server is
not configured for transactions"

hmmm... I can map the drive(s) of off comp2, but thats
about it.

Tell us a bit more about the network setup on both systems - the protocols
you're using, the workgroups, services installed, etc...

np... lets see

both computers have been set up the same (even though
there must be some discrepancy between them or I wouldn't
be having a problem)

I'm useing client for microsoft networks, tcp/ip, NetBeui,
and file/print sharing.

both are set to the standard "workgroup" when first
setting a network up.

as for servises, all the basic stuff, both have been
compared, and arn't lacking any from one another.

both computers are loggin in as admin, and thats all I
have for accounts (deleted all the rest for simplicity at
the moment) selected folders have been set to "shared"...

th eone noticable different is in the admin tools/computer
management: shared folders/shares

on comp1 I have
ADMIN$ C:\WINNT
C C:\
C$ C:\
D D:\
IPC$

where as on comp2 I only have

C C:\
D D:\

thats it..

It looks like you disabled the administrative shares on comp2, but that's
ok.
Remove netbeui (unless you specifically need it for something).
Are you using the same password on your admin account to access both
machines? If password is blank, try assigning a password.
Are you running Win2K Server?? or Pro? I'm asking because of the reference
to "server" in the error message.
