Receiving iCal in an e-mail, not importing

F

Farrel Buchinsky

My wife and I both used to use Microsoft Outlook XP on Windows machines. All
was well. We could invite one another to items on our calendar and if we
accepted then the details would automatically be present in our respective
calendars. She has now just moved to an Apple iBook and is using iCalendar.
Now when I receive an e-mail invitation it says "To accept or decline this
invitation, click the link below." However there never is a link below.
Instead there is an attachment .ics file. When I double click it I get a
message, "Cannot import vCalendar file." If I save it to the harddrive and
then get Outlook to import it still fails and tells me that the file may be
corrupt. Any solutions?

Could you open the iCal file in Notepad and copy and paste into a response to this post, please?
