Can't create a calendar appointment from an Webex e-mail invitatio

When I click the "to add this meeting to your calendar program (for example
Microsoft Outlook)" link embedded in the Webex e-mail invitation, no entry is
created in my Calendar. I get the File Download dialog with the iCalendar
file, but when I click open, the Meeting Schedule dialog opens, but no
meeting is created after I click reply. When click save in the File Download
dialog, the file is stored to a 'download' folder but again no meeting is
created. I created the meeting in Webex as the meeting host, and I notice a
message towards the top of the Meeting Schedule dialog "as the meeting host,
you do not need to respond to the meeting" but how else would I enter into my
Calendar? I don't think the fact that I'm the host should have anything to
do with my not being able to enter the meeting in my Calendar.

I'm using Outlook 2007 as a POP3 and SMTP clients pointing to a hosted
e-mail server at Network Solutions. Outlook 2007 is configured with the
default .pst settings. IOWs I didn't change where Outlook stores the
Outlook.pst file.

Any help is appreciated...

they have a solution.

Hi Milly. Thanks for the quick response. I posted the same problem with Webex
and am waiting for a reply. Unless their .ics file is corrupted, I don't
think the problem is with them. As I mentioned originally, they point me to a
..ics file but when save it and run it, I see that it creates an e-mail
acknowledgement. However, replying to the acknowledgment does not make a
calendar entry.

This is the response from Webex. I will try their suggestions:

Hello Larry,

Thank you for choosing WebEx.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues adding WebEx meetings
to the Outlook 2007 calendar.

Due to the new design in Outlook 2007, scheduling hosts cannot add the ICS
file to their calendar if their WebEx profile name matches their Outlook
profile name.

To add the meeting to the Outlook 2007 calendar manually using the ICS file,
please follow the steps below:

1. Save the ICS file to your local computer desktop.
2. Ensure you have saved the attachment in an easily-accessed location, such
as the Desktop 3. Open the Outlook Calendar view.
4. Left-click on the attachment, and drag the file to the appropriate day
within the Outlook Calendar view.

This should add the meeting to the Outlook 2007 calendar.

If the issue persists then please modify the first and last name on your
WebEx host profile.
(Example, first name last name to first name initial last name.)

You can login to your WebEx website: https://blank.webex.com, click My WebEx
--> My Profile --> Make the changes and click Update button at the bottom.

Then try adding the meeting to Outlook calendar using the above steps.

This should solve the issue.
