Uninstall your MS Antisoyware fully via using Add/Remove programs in Control
Panel.

Then remove any tracks from C:\Program files

Disable System RestoreCheck Turn off system restore.Click OK
Uncheck Turn off system restore ,so you'll have your Restore function ON.

Download the latest version of the Antispyware (ver 1.0.701)
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Install it and update.Check all settings.

I'm puzzled about why you would recommend the off/on cycle for System
restore in this instance?

I know of no reason to believe that will help with the issue.

Additionally, in XP, there's no need for the restart--the restore points are
gone when you shut down SR.

Hi,

Try these two solutions:

You can repair Windows AntiSpyware using Add or Remove Programs in Control
Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and click Change. Click Next, and then
click Updªte.

Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in -> command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quºtes).
3) Close and re-open Windows Defender.

You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any downside risk--and
see if that does the job.

Let us know whether it does, or nºt!

Panda_man may not have been entirely precise.

Did you, in fact, delete \program files\microsoft antispyware, and all
subfolders?

In doing this, you will lose access to quarantined items, history, and
customized settings.

Hi Bill, thank you for repling. I deleted the Antispyware folder as a whole ,
and didn't open the file and delete each part in the folder . Regards

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us with your success.
Nothing is more frustrating than supplying a fix and having the outcome just
go off into a bit bucket. This is a learning process for everyone here.

Happy Holidays
