RealOne Player

I have XP Pro. Since I did a Microsoft update, I lost
RealOne Player. I get a Microsoft message saying "There
was a problem - sorry" I tried to download RealOne
Player and got the same Microsoft Message. I uninstalled
RealOne Player and tried again to download. Same message.
GRRRRR! What can I do? Is there another Player I can
get that will give me audio that doesn't involve
Microsoft? Please help me. This has been going on for
days now. Thanks Billie

No. It was a message on the bottom of my desktop. I
have received email messages about updates but was aware
this was a problem, so I've deleted all those. I've also
been getting emails showing unable to deliver messages
I've not sent. They have attachments but I've been
deleteing those. Several strange things going on with my
computer right now. Anyway, any suggestions for a player
I can use that doesn't involve Microsoft. Thanks for the
reply. BIllie

Ideas/questions you can consider?
- was the error associated with "download" (as described above) or
associted with doing the installatoin subsequent to download?
- is the error message only "there was a problem - sorry"? This is an
unusual choice of words. (Doesn't sound like a Microsoft XP error).
- have you done a check for viruses on your computer? (your second post
mentions other problems)
- have you checked for ad-ware on your computer? (your second post
mentions other problems).
- are you using administrator id (or id with admin permissions) to install?
- RealPlayer works. I use it all the time.
