Hi all,
OK, here's a good laugh for the night. I know this has been answered
for many a times, however, I can't find the right answer.
I am running, RD on my home PC and I want to allow my daughter to
connect to the RD from her PC which is running XP. What does she need
to do to access my pc? I have given her the correct permissions as an
administrator.
Thanks for the help.

All you should need to do is give her your IP Address to use in the
Remote Desktop Connection Client.. If it is on the local LAN, use
your private address... If it is remote, use the public/wan ip
address.

You also want to double check the Remote tab under System Properties
and make sure either the Administrator group or her username is listed
in the "Select Remote Users" button.

If remote, and I'm a private IP on a LAN that's behind a DSL router with a
public IP, than what? Thanks.

You must use the public ip address and have your firewall/router
forward the packet to your computer - or set up a VPN (first method is
easier)

Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. What are the security issues by using the first
method?

Ok, I know it has been a while since I have been back to this subject,
but I finally got a chance to go to my daughter's house and see if I
could connect to the pc at my home. I kept getting the statement page
cannot be found. Now I use dns2go.com and gotomypc and got the same
results from those.
Anyone have any ideas, that may help.

Thanks,

If that is where you put the /tsweb at the end of the URL, then yes I
am.
