Can't 2 people be logged on at the same time with RD?

Hello all,

Isn't it supposed to be possible for 2 people to be logged on at the
same time when using RD (that is 1 logged on locally and the other can
RD into the machine w/o interrupting the first one). I know that I've
seen this before.

I'm trying to RD into my Win XP MCE 2005 machine from my Win XP Pro
laptop while someone is logged onto the MCE machine watching TV w/o
kicking them off. When I try this, first I get a message on the
laptop that I can't do this w/o kicking her off and her work might be
lost. If I click yes/ok, then I get a message on the MCE box warning
me that someone is trying to RD into it and if I (her) want to give
them permission. I click yes/ok, and I (she) gets kicked off of the
MCE machine (not actually logged off--it just flips to the "Welcome"
screen because I do have "Fast User Switching" enabled). This happens
when she is logged on to the MCE machine and I try to RD in using my
log on. When I try to RD in with her log on while she is logged on, I
get a message something like "can't do it because of user
restrictions" on the laptop (but I think that she is a member of the
Admins group (on both machines)--so shouldn't her account be able to
RD into it w/o explicitly giving it permission to).

On the other hand, when trying to RD into the laptop from the MCE box,
if I remember correctly, I don't get a message, saying that the other
user will get kicked off, on the MCE machine, nor do I get a message
on the laptop asking permission. It just opens up on the MCE box and
kicks me off of the laptop (once again, not totally logged off, just
flips to the welcome screen because of "Fast User Switching" enabled).
Now this was done with my account logged in on the laptop and trying
to RD into it with my account. I did not try it with her login at
all.

As you may have guessed, I'm using Workgroup networking as well as
Fast User Switching on both machines. I don't know if any of these
will affect the ability to have 2 people (or 2 different instances of
the same account) logged on a the same time. Is there any other
setting that I can change that might allow this? Is there any
settings that I can change that might disable the warning/asking
permission messages?

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide,

Conan Kelly
