Random reboots: Event ID 1001 Save Dump

Typical contents listed in Events Properties: "The
computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was:
0x000000d1 (0xd74ebf17,0x00000000,0xd74ebf17). A dump was
saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini010104-01.dmp

Q. I am a novice.
Please someone tell me how I prevent these annoying
crashes.

do a search on microsoft website knowledge base (under the support section)
for the first parameter of your error message. a quick search on this site
found the following

it looks as though a driver for one of your pieces of hardware is
incompatible with winxp. when did the errors start? was it after you
installed a new mouse or graphics card or other piece of hardware?

click start>run and type 'sigverif' . this will identify bad device drivers
(unsigned by microsoft) you need to load a windows xp device driver for any
suspect drivers.
