Umm I don't know what you are talking about with Dv-AVI
but i can tell you the following.
Sample rate : 12 bit
Video Compression : MS H.263
I used a program called FRAPS. I records during the game
and saves it as an AVI file with the properties shown
above.

The old H263 codec is the problem. It is an extremely lossy capture format.
That is why you are losing sharpness when you edit it. There is not much
that can be done. I have never used FRAPS, but it is using an archaic
codec. You should find a way to capture in a higher quality format that
wont lose so much sharpness when edited, such as DV-AVI.
