Program Error svchost.exe

Error message keeps appearing, which reads as follows:
"Program Error - svchost.exe has generated errors and will
be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the
program. An error log is being created." I am running
Windows 2000 Professional on a home computer. Please...
Can anyone tell me what is causing this annoying message
box to constantly pop up? How do I get rid of it? Any
help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. :^)

Your PC is probably infected with a virus. Have a look at the
countless other posts in this newsgroup that have "svchost"
in the Subject line.
