Producing ebooks....??

sno

I have some math and electronics books that I would like to
convert to ebooks.

Was wondering if there is any freeware that would allow
me to scan in pages and automatically convert the pages to
text, page by page into one large file, so that I can use
my ocr software to proof. I can then put into pdf format
and add the drawings/pictures.

Thank you for any help......sno

There was a thread about :
"Wanted: Freeware ebook compiler"
in this group in march and april 2004

I noted only the links, but never tried anything.
Maybe those links could be helpful :

Y-book from http://www.spacejock.com/

There is freeware for different pda operating systems out there.
This site offers thousands of free ebooks that are reabable on the
computer without special software:

P.S.: There are also "Compilers" to compile a HTML-Reader with the content.
:
from Boxbuilder
"BoxBuilder will compile selected HTML documents in an .exe executable file
with integral viewer."
