Problems with Networking to Win98

I seem to be having trouble with my Peer-to-Peer network at home.

I have two computers, one named COMPAQ, the other ONEBYTE. COMPAQ has XP
Pro and a NETGEAR FA310TX NIC. ONEBYTE has Win98 SE, and an "Intel 21140
Based 10/100 mbps" NIC, and both are linked together via crossover cable.

I ran the XP network setup wizard on both computers. I can file/print
share pretty much OK... but here are my problems.

First Problem: Whenever I try to access some folders on COMPAQ from
ONEBYTE, it says that I don't have sufficient permissions. How do I get
around this?

Second Problem: ICS is shot. COMPAQ's (the one with the i-net connection)
IP on the network is what it should be: 192.168.0.1. ONEBYTE's IP is
192.168.0.2, and its default gateway is COMPAQ'S IP. The subnet mask is
what it should be on both computers: 255.255.255.0. My i-net connection is
shared and firewalled, and I also am running ZoneAlarm on COMPAQ. But when
I try to get to a website at ONEBYTE, I get a "Page cannot be displayed."
I messed with everything that would fix it, and still nothing. WTH is
going on?

First Problem:
On both computers you need to have an account with the same Username and
Password. Make this account an Administrator on the COMPAQ. Do you have
this?

Second Problem:
Find out what the Domain Name Server (DNS) addresses are for your ISP. If
you can't find this information use192.168.0.1. Enter these in the TCP/IP
Properties of ONEBYTE.

See if these work.

Lardy.
