Hello,

I've been having some serious problems with my new fuji E500 digital camera
I just bought. The camera works fine, but my computer does not recognize it
as a camera or usb mass storage device. I've installed the drivers, and
re-installed the drivers, I've tried the latest drivers....nothing works, my
computer just says it's a usb device and can't the proper drivers.

Please help, I've tried everything I can think of....thanx in advance.

You cannot just re-install the driver. First you must uninstall the driver
(via control panel add/remove) then install the driver again.

Yves,

Sorry but I wasn't clear, I did un-install all drivers and software before
re-installing......didn't work.

If so, check the USB connection.

Go to Control panel>Performance>System>Hardware>Device Manager>Universal
Serial Bus Controller. Open the list and see if your camera is listed there.
If there is a problem, there will be yellow flag. Right
click on it and click on Properties and Troubleshoot. If you need to
re-install the driver you can do it from there also.

Still no luck...when windows trys to install the driver, either automatically
or manually (using device mananger), it cannot find the driver; even tried
telling it to look directly on the Fuji CD, still no luck....Thanx for your
help however, but I think I'm gonna give Fuji a nasty call..

Stumbled on a fix for some who are having problems down loading Fuji A205"s
digital pictures to Windows ME (and may apply to other camera's.) --- After
buying a new PC - I could not get WindowsXP Pro to auto down load
(autostart) the pictures. Worked fine on Windows ME --- After spending many
hours researching and trying fixes ( i.e. down loading new Drivers) ---I
accidentally brought up another family members log in section of the computer
and found the FinePix program nicely loaded their. Works fine in her
section. I am the administator and I was loading the Fuji Program to my
login area. How it jumped the fence I don't know. --- also - Mass Storage
USB did show in my USB device ( Device Manager) -(This appears only when the
camera is switched on ) which did get me hamering in the wrong area.

Hope it helps!

Hi we don't have a fuji but had similar problem. Pc would not recognise our
camera.
Fixed it finally by reading camera manual!! Changed the camera setting
prior to connecting via USB (ours neaded to be in a different mode) then
worked fine.
