Problem With Outlook Contacts

I am using W XP, Outlook 2003 and Word 2003.

When I want to adress an outgoing message I click on the To field and
that brings up the select names screen.

The names on this screen are in First Name sequence. I want them in
Last Name sequence.

I have gone to Tools > Options > Preferences > Contacts > Contacts
Options. Both options there are set to Last,
First. But that seems to apply only to new listings.

How do I get the Contacts list that comes up when addressing an email
message to br in Last, first order?

Thanks for any and all help.

As an additional piece of information when I look at my Contacts in
Address Card view they are listed as Last, First and in Last name
order.

Thanks again

You will have to export your contacts to an excel file for example, delete
all contacts in your outlook contact list and import them back from the excel
file.
That will do the tric
