Selecting Contacts when Sending Emails

Outlook 2003
In a new mail message, I click on "to" and am prompted to select names of
recipients. I then go to one of my various contacts groups where all the
names are listed alphabetically by first name.
Can this be changed? I want the lists to be given by last name. The contacts
are organized by last name.
Thanks,
