Problem with MicroSoft AntiSpyware

G

Genie

I installed Antispyware some time back and didn't realize my version had
expired so I uninstalled it today I went on Microsoft's website to see if I
could purchase the Spyware and noticed I could have download an extension.
So anyway I reinstalled the Spyware Beta 1 onto this computer and I am
getting almost the same problem as this person described below.
Thanks Genie

On another website I
found a fix that really does work. Here is what they
recommended:
1. uninstall microsoft antispyware (MSAS)
2. delete the MSAS folder and all of it's subfolders
(usually C:/program files/microsoft antispyware)
3 reinstall the newest verison of MSAS.

I guess the problem is in the files that remain when you
try to repair or reinstall over a previous version screw
things up. One warning, you will lose all recorded
settings, preferences, and quarantined items. . . not
that this is really an issue anyway but good to know

Here is the link to the site where I found the info

Hopefully this helps everyone else.

Glenndan
