None of those posts seem to give a solution to the problem. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem this morning (same day). Having no trouble
connecting to the internet with any other application.

I too have problem of updating this morning. Have 1.0.701 and 5783.

I cannot manually connect to update server. Must be MS server problem.

Maybe someone will notice the number of these two threads and do something
about the Microsoft Update Site? Obviously many of us have the same problem
and it does not appear to be on our end.

This connection problem does seem to be a universal issue this morning.

I have the latest incarnation of the Beta(701) and the latest defs(5783) installed, clicking
on File||Check for Updates... this morning renders the following:

I'm reading messages in other newsgroups that updates cannot be
Dl'd at this time.
I get the same problem: "Warning - Cannot Connect to the Internet"

I too having same connection message, nothing wrong with my server etc-I see
others cannot update also-hope we get a fix soon-

I'm having the exact same problem, so it must be a Microsoft Udate Server
Problem.
I'm sure they are aware and working to solve the problem as I type.
