Using the latest beta of MAS

Thanks for any & all help in getting rid of this site.

Hey Kue

Can you confirm you was in safe mode when you run Ewido and does it detect
any problems before it crashes?

Download Ccleaner and then then run it first and then run Ewido

Download Ccleaner

http://download.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp

Install Then run and press Run Cleaner to remove temp files from your system.

Then run Ewido again and let me know if it detects anything and at what
stage it crashes, Also post the smitrem log from C:\drive if you still have
it on your system.

Thanks Andy

Hi Andy
Re:Ewido
had ccleaner installed ran it first made no difference.
when scan first started (in safe mode) It ran for about 20-30 secs found 2
things & i hit the remove button, about 20 secs later program closed could not
view or save anything. I tried many times 5 or 6 in both winxp & winxp64 bit.
Program does not even get half way before it closes in both Safe Mode or in
reg mode.Tried 5 or 6 times in each. Ewido just keeps closing, sometimes it
hangs, when scanning memory it displays objects being scanned but % never
changes.Left it run scanning memory for 25 mins before I cancelled it. The
only thing it could scan was the registry(no errors)

A little good news!
reloaded ewido tonite left both boxes ticked.Updated it & ran full system
scan, but program closed after running for almost 5 mins.Next tried the fast
scan it completed sucessfully 100% complete no errors, found nothing (0).
I ran both these scans in normal mode in win xp pro 32 bit.

Hi Again

Are you still getting the alerts about syserrors ?

There's a Compatibility list on Ewido's site and a link to contact them if
you wanted to use it as they may be able to help more on the crashes,

http://www.ewido.net/en/compatibility/ ,

Try these scans if you have more alerts from Microsoft Antispy:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
http://www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan/

If you block the site from entering the trusted zone on the alert then it
should be an orange pop up the second time saying it has been blocked and
giving the option to remove it from the blocked list. If You open Microsoft
Antispy and goto Advanced tools then Application Agents, Click Internet
Explorer Trusted Sites and "Manage Allowed" it will list show any stored.

It will sometimes show a blue pop up showing a site is being added to the
trusted zone when its added to the Restricted zone, this could be happening
if you use Spybot Search & Destroy Immunize feature or other protection
programs that place sites into the Restricted zone.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;902956

To check if it is in the Restricted zone Open a I.E browser window and goto
tools on the top bar then to Internet Options, Click the Security Tab then
Trusted sites and see if its listed in there if not check the restricted
zone.

This site explains the Restricted zone and has links to usefull protection
programs if needed. http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/restricted.htm

Let us know if it continues and we can try other tools to check for problems,

Andy
