Problem copying large files

I'm trying to copy some large files (~5GB) to an external
hard drive (I have the same problem on a usb2.0 and a
firewire hard drive). When I click "paste" I get a
message that says "Cannot copy [filename]: There is not
enough free disk space" (and some stuff about runnign
disk cleanup). There is plenty of disk space (~200GB),
so that is not the problem. Can anyone offer any advice
or suggestions? Thanks!

How is it formatted? Fat32 or NTFS. If it's fat32, that's the problem as
there's a filesize limit that you're running up against.

If it is NTFS, have your tried dragging and dropping instead of copying and
pasting?
