Print notification from Win 2000 server to Win XP Clients

We have a Windows 2000 Print Server which provides access
to a number of printers in our Department. When clients
using Win NT printed through the server, they receive
notification of the completion of the print job from the
server through Windows Messaging. However, any Win XP
clients do not receive the notification. We have not been
able to determine a service or lack of service on the
client which would be causing this difference between
clients.

Jim ... try this ...

From the XP client, go to Printers and Faxes and select the network printer.
Then, click on File, Server Properties in the menu bar and click on the
Advanced tab. Place a checkmark in 'Notify when remote documents are
printed'.

Thanks, Fred, but this is a no-go. That's the way it is
allready set up. On the 2k server this is also the
setting.
